How To Nail a Killer Ad Copy

Ad copy refers to the printed text or spoken words in an advertisement. In the past, I’ve seen people recommending each other books on copywriting. Well, to be frank , they’re no good. So how do you go about making a killer ad copy? One way could be to pick up a line or steal the words from somewhere. But that’s not what copywriting is all about. The biggest mistake done by copywriters is that they take a successful product’s ad and change the headline or rephrase the paragraphs according to their product. For those who are into making too many mistakes, must read the following:

Answer the following questions before you make your ad copy:-

  • Clarify the objective of your ad: What do you want your ad to do for you? To generate enquiries, to make a direct sale, etc.

  • Small description of the product/service: What is the product all about? What are the uses and features? What it does? How it works? Finish it off in a small paragraph.

  • Define the target audience: Who is ad going to be addressed to? What hopes and expectations does the audience have? What might be a strong ground for objection of the product?

  • Set the price: How much should it be priced at? Justify the costs.

  • Include special offers: The key to instant attention is including special offers like premiums, money back guarantees, limited period offers etc.

  • What are the benefits? Personal and professional

  • Who are your competitors? Compare the advantages, prices, terms of the competitors

  • What is the deadline of the project?

  • What all media can be used for selling? Define the best medium to reach the consumers. Whatever attracts your customers the fastest and the easiest is the best option.

The above written points must have given you a fair idea about what you need to know while writing an ad copy. But there has to be something more to catch the fishes from the pond right?

Here’s how you can get a head start when you sit down to make an ad copy: Read the rest of this entry

Since we started, MarketingHackz has been on the Digg front page once, has been stumbled too many times to count, and has achieved close to 600 RSS Feed subscribers. All in all, we couldn’t be happier with the launch.

As you know, NetHackz launched last week, having the first article Dugg to the point of server failure. And ever since, we have been off and running!

Now – next week, we have two exciting announcements for you! Count ‘em – two. And I’ll give you hint – you love the commercials… :0)

Marketing campaigns are designed keeping in mind the consumer or the target audience.
Once the consumer relates to the theme and the so offered services, consider the campaign a runaway hit. Successful marketing campaigns are not easy to achieve. Ever heard of “Chocolate Rain” by Tay Zonday. This lad set a benchmark in marketing campaigns. How? Well, he wrote a song, became famous with people, signed up with a studio and KAZZAM! The boy’s a star overnight with the highest hits of his video on YouTube.com. But everyone cannot be plain lucky like him, right? NetHackz LogoMarketingHackz was never meant to be a stand alone blog. We didn’t start it for that reason. We wanted to build a Hackz Network that encompassed a lot of different ideas and niches, with a few central thoughts and beliefs…

The reason we launched MarketingHackz first was simple – all blogs and businesses need marketing. Without it, there is no hope to stay alive, no matter the industry.

One of the things I originally wanted to do here was play with test cases. To have a concept, launch it, and go from there. Well, we have our first test case. And I apologize for not bringing you in sooner…

Now, to the best slogans of all time…

There are many reasons why a slogan is an effective tool for marketing. Here are some of the basic and fundamental reasons why every business should have a slogan:

  • You can get it printed on cool stuff like these Trades Show Giveaways to hand out at your next event
  • You can carry it with you. Be it on a bag, your vehicle, t-shirt, whatever it is a slogan can be printed and used as a walking advertisement. The main benefit of this aspect is that you are marketing your business without any effort.
  • A memorable slogan is like a good song. Most people don’t forget something catchy. If your slogan is catchy and memorable it will stick to people’s brains which is hard to wipe out. Your slogan helps people recognize your brand.
  • It’s easy to create. I know most businesses and companies pay thousands of dollars to come up with a good slogan, but if you ask me, an hour worth of time is more than enough to come up with a great catchy slogan. Creativity and a little patience that’s all it requires, no money involved what so ever.
  • Slogans are the best marketing tool in a marketer’s tool box. It’s like an automatic tool that once you charge and let go, it does the rest provided that you have promoted your brand and product beforehand.

We all know the importance of slogan and I am sure most of you who run businesses or blogs already know the importance of it so I am not going to waste my time or yours by going into details.
