Banner Ad Templates

Examples Of Banner Ad Templates Sizes

Banners ads aren’t dead. In fact, I don’t remember them EVER being more alive than right now. Before I get to far ahead of myself, I want explain why I’m giving you some banner ad templates.

Ok, here’s the deal. Right now, I’m getting $.04 per click on some of the ad networks for some incredibly competitive terms. That’s 4 cents per click… You can’t touch that price on Google Adwords or Yahoo’s Search Marketing.

So, how do these banner ad templates fit in? Well, when you get outside of Google Adwords or any other pay per click platform, you start paying CPM costs. CPM stands for ‘cost per thousand’ impressions.

Without getting into a lot of explanation about how to do media buys and buy banner advertising, I do want to get into what makes a good banner ad.

Banner Ad Templates – Ugly Works Splendidly

The next time you are one an advertising rich website, pay attention to ‘what’ catches your eye. Is it the pretty banner ads? Is it the ugly ones? I’m willing to be that it’s the ugly ones – more so than the pretty ads.

We’re talking ugly colors. White backgrounds. Nasty fonts. Terribly pictures. All this stuff works because it truly does interrupt your pattern. These banners make you react to them, way more than pretty banner ads ever do!

The banner ad templates I provided to you work really, really well. I always use them to establish my baseline in a banner ad campaign.

Banner Ad Templates – Pretty Banners

Pretty banner ads work on occasion too. Don’t dismiss them. Sometimes it’s the demographic that you’re advertising to. Sometimes it’s the product. Regardless, make sure you have pretty ads when you can.

Oftentimes, pretty ads take a lot longer to create and they don’t always work, so they’re a bit of a gamble. If you’re advertising your own product, pretty banners are probably a good investment. If it’s an affiliate offer – I wouldn’t worry about creating your own nice banners until you prove that the product sells.

I use 20 Dollar Banners for all my pretty banners. They’re awesome.

Banner Ad Templates – Test, Test, Test

Make sure you test both pretty and ugly banner ads in every campaign that you possibly can, always improving as you go.

Once I prove that a campaign is worthwhile, I make sure to test different versions of each kind of banner ad.

Here’s some things to test:

  • The headline
  • The benefits
  • The link itself (the full www domain name vs. ‘click here’)
  • The supporting images (in ugly ads)
  • The main images (in pretty ads)
  • The sizes

These things should be tested one at a time after you have established a control.  Once you find a new winner, that’s your control…  So you’re constantly improving.

Banner Ad Templates – Want More Banner Ad Information?

Oftentimes, you’ll find that ugly ads work better in some places than others.  For example, an ugly ad might work really well as a 300×250 ad block.  But that same ad performs poorly as a 728×90px banner.

When it’s all said and done, you’ve got to continually test your options for the best click through rate and best per click prices..

The banner ad templates I provided are really just a starting point!

If you do want to learn more about banner ads, how they’re used effectively (ugly vs. pretty) and where to get these bargain basement prices, check out Banner Ad Blueprint.

Please disregard the crazy make money online claims.  I’m sure they’re true but that course is where I learned everything I know about banner ads!

SEOpressor WordPress Plugin

SEOpressor WordPress Plugin

This is my SEOpressor Review. If you’re looking for the official SEOpressor site, click the link below:

I just tested out this new SEO plugin by Daniel Tan called SEOPressor and I have to say, I’m pretty impressed.  Every single one of my niche sites is built in WordPress and they’re all using the Thesis theme for search engine reasons, but I think SEOpressor might just take them over the top!

Basically, SEOpressor does a few things to your content automatically.  Things like:

  • SEOpressor automatically adds bold to my keywords
  • It automatically adds italic to my keywords
  • It automatically adds underline to my keywords
  • The SEOpressor automatically adds ALT tag to my images (huge plus!)
  • It automatically adds keyword to my titles
  • It gives me a SCORE for all my pages, so I know what I did right and wrong.
  • SEOpressor gives me strong correlation with Google’s top pages!
  • It was built with a tested and proven algorithm for high ranking!

SEOpressor WordPress Plugin – The Positives

Admittedly, I love WordPress and SEO.  There isn’t a better platform on the planet.  I also love the idea of hands-off SEO once I determine what keywords I want to rank for.  With that being said, SEOpressor is a godsend.  All I have to do is add the keywords  and it finds them, bolds them, underlines them, etc.  For images – it does all the alt tag stuff that’ll get your images ranked in Google Images.  Definitely cool stuff.

SEOpressor WordPress Plugin – The Negatives

As with any WordPress plugin, SEOpressor has its drawbacks.  Normally, awesome plugins are bloated and make your site run slow or they’re difficult to figure out.  SEOpressor is neither.

The one thing I am not too sure about is the ’spammy’ factor.  My niche sites are nice and simple.  They’re built around a handful of keyword phrases and they all rank very well.  I don’t want to run the risk of Google seeing my site as spammy because of all kinds of bolded, italicized words…  But then again, H2 tags are usually bolded and big…  And I’ve got great results bolding and optimizing my client’s content…

I guess only time will tell though.  I know the plugin was too cheap for me to pass up…

**UPDATE – SEOpressor has had actually done exactly what it says it does.  This site alone is up almost 48% in traffic from the search engines – and it’s no slouch.  In fact, the results with my niche sites that use SEOpressor are constant…  up at least 40% compared to those not using the SEOpressor WordPress Plugin.

SEOpressor – The Verdict

Ultimately, if you want your sites to rank in Google, you need to be content minded.  You need to have strong keyword phrases and long tail content.  You also need keywords in your post titles, page titles, tags and everything else.  SEOpressor gives you all that.  All you have to do is tell it which keyword you want to rank for!

Now, I probably don’t have to tell you this, but the SEOpressor plugin is on a first come, first serve basis.  Right now, Daniel Tan is actually running a limited time, risk free trial. I can’t imagine he’ll be keeping it up for long because, frankly, SEOpressor is an awesome SEO WordPress Plugin. It’s going to bring you tons of FREE traffic SEO can bring you!

SEOpressor Bonus – The SEO Walkthrough

Listen, if you decide to buy SEOpressor, and I hope you do because it’ll bring you results, I’m going to give you a very special bonus worth $197.  I’m going to do a 90 minute SEO training that’ll show you EXACTLY how I do search engine optimization in WordPress sites to get top rankings for damn near any keyword I choose.

One thing SEOpressor is missing is “How to do SEO.”  Daniel assumes I guess that everyone knows how to SEO their sites.  I know that many of you don’t though.

So, if you decide to buy SEOpressor through my link, I’ll be sending you an email invite to my SEO walkthrough training for free!

Don’t miss out before the price on SEOpressor goes up!

Learn How To Get Guaranteed Web Traffic!I’m very excited to tell you about a HUGE free virtual event starting May 14th that’ll get you guaranteed web traffic!  The event is called Traffic Rockstars.

It’s what is called a “virtual event” and is something very new to our internet marketing industry. I’m SUPER excited about it, because the speakers are awesome.

Basically, they are all the people I’ve learned about Internet marketing from!  We’re talking pay per click, search engine optimization, gmail advertising, banner advertising, social media..  Literally everything.

The only difference is I’ve spent a lot of money on courses and this web event is free!  Oh – And you don’t have to travel anywhere.  It’ll be delivered right through your web browser.

How cool is that?  You can watch it LIVE from your computer! I don’t really know how this whole virtual event stuff works, so have no idea if the seats are limited. I’m assuming there is probably some sort of bandwidth limitation or something, so be sure to go there now and sign up for it. I’ve already signed up.

Again, it’s free and you’re going to be able to hear from MAJOR internet marketing gurus about getting guaranteed web traffic to websites.

A few of the guys that are speaking include:

  • Mike Filsaime
  • Yanik Silver
  • Jeff Walker
  • Brad Fallon
  • Jeff Johnson
  • Ryan Deiss
  • … and the list goes on and on!

Go here to register: http://drohnresearch.com/traffic_rockstars

Wait ’til you see the virtual conference that these guys created.. It’s really pretty awesome!  And the benefits of learning how to get guaranteed web traffic?  Amazing.

There is a lot of marketing speak surrounding Facebook and Twitter.  But what about the other phenomenal social networking site, LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is really the only solvent site out of the bunch!  They grew up with a revenue model and it’s working really, really well for them.

There are a lot of different ways to use LinkedIn.  It isn’t as ’socially’ as Facebook (but it’s trying to be).  It’s way more sticky than Twitter.  In fact, LinkedIn is a nice mix of all the best features of each.

Biznik has a great article on tips to using LinkedIn to promote your business:

  • Don’t be afraid to customize Your URL
  • Use their badges and your profile url on blog comments and in other social networks
  • Optimize all your labels – website, blog, personal site, portfolio…
  • Use keywords to define yourself
  • Sync blog posts and RSS feeds to your LinkedIn profile
  • Use the email signature
  • Add a profile picture!

The bottom line is visibility.  If you and your brand are visible, you will start to pick up support in no time.

What kind of successes have you found with LinkedIn?  Is there anyone who has successfully picked up a great client or a nice project?

Last week, I was struck by two things – the lackluster performance of newspaper advertising and the fact that my mom loves Facebook.

The first leads into the second…

Newspaper circulation is declining.  That much we know.  The story is being told by all of the newspapers going out of business.  Billboards, no matter how many times they rotate a minute or how bright they seem to light up a March night, can’t hold a candle to the traffic and interest generated by a Twitter feed.

But yet people are dumping money into newspaper advertising?!

Let me put this a bit differently…  To buy a newspaper ad in our local newspaper – one ad – it’s $4,000.  Put that same money in banner ads or a text link ad campaign – You’re ad will be featured by 15-20 highly targeted sites with millions of page views for one whole month!

The kicker – you can track the results of your campaigns…

On to Facebook.  My mom loves it.  She keeps up with her friends, the kids of her friends and her college professors.  The Facebook demographic is changing.  College kids are on there, sure.  But so are their parents so they can keep up with their sons and daughters without always being on the phone.  Those parents are friends with other parents…  Get the picture?

So, let’s revisit the initial question.  Is your target market reading the newspaper?  Or are they on Facebook and Twitter and Youtube?

Do you want to spend $4000 for a one day ad that is limited to zip codes, or does it make sense to pursue banner advertising and Facebook ads?

The answer is simple.  And it’s not going to be found in black and white pages that fold over…

Using Glue To Market More Effectively Online

Over the past few weeks, I have gotten into Firefox extensions and how they can be used to make content more viral.

We all know and love the Stumbleupon toolbar, but what about true networking and connecting on the Internet?  Is there something out there that lets me put a face to a name?

That’s when I came across Glue by Adaptive Blue.  It’s an add-on that lets you claim your own pieces of the Internet like blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, and things of that nature.  When a fellow glue ‘member’ runs across those pages, your image pops up with things that you like.  It’s also accompanied by other people that like the same things!

It’s kind of like Stumbleupon, but with a truly personal touch.

Here are some words from their add-on page:

Glue offers a new, smarter way for you to connect with friends around things you visit. When you navigate to popular sites like Amazon, Netflix, Last.fm, Wine.com or Citysearch the Glue Bar will automatically show you which of your friends visited the same thing around the web.

Now, an Internet marketer is probably thinking, ‘I don’t care about friends, I just want to make money!’

Well, in case you haven’t figured it out yet…  You are your own brand.  And the things you promote travel closely behind you on the Internet.

Sharing Content Is Becoming Easier and Easier

I love buttons.  Especially when they help you and your readers share your content.  But one thing that has driven me nuts is how long they took to load.

I just got an email from Arthur telling us about their service – Tell A Friend.  The Tell A Friend button is a nice addition to any site – especially one that has dramatic, viral type content.  It’s a quick add on which will allow you to spread the word pretty quickly, whether by email, social networking profile, or through your blog.

When Nike+ launched two years ago, there were many skeptics.  Other corporations have tried to create a strong social network for their users.  The results have been horrendous for most, but Nike has been able to build their brand and establish strong avenues of interactions with their customers through this social network.

What did they do that Coke, General Motors, and several other large corporations did not do?

First, they gave the platform connectivity and interactivity.  Using a device within the running shoes themselves, members can track every run they do and keep accurate records of how well they are doing.  This in itself has an appeal to those who are serious about running, but Nike+ took it a step further by allowing users to communicate with other runners around the globe.  The mutual interest that can often be called a passion gave the network the “legs” to bring people in and keep them coming back.

The second thing they did was give purpose to the network.  Through events that could only be coordinated online do to logistical challenges of multiple-locations worldwide, Nike+ made itself into a hub for runners to participate with distant peers towards common goals.  Earlier this year, nearly a million users logged on and signed up to run a 10K race.  It was sponsored by Nike simultaneously in 25 cities. Every where I look, I see more and more messages about how bad the economy is and how terrible this holiday season is shaping up to be…  Turning on the news is more of a pain in the ass than anything.  It’s so terribly distressing to hear what these ‘media companies’ are saying about our current plight.

We all know that Internet marketing is growing.  And we have tried to position ourselves in that market by offering tips and tricks on how to get the most out of it.  So we are going to do something special for you to kick off the new year.  We are going to do a comprehensive pay per click training for free.

There are very few mediums in advertising that let you:

  1. Set up your campaigns to pinpoint your target market
  2. Allow you to adjust your spending in semi-real time
  3. Track your success in a conversion-to-expense ratio

Pay per click is one of them.

I really think this is important because it lets you actually see how much you are spending as compared to what your revenues are.

How I Used Pay Per Click To Profit On An Ebook

A prime example of this is with an ebook that I created a couple years ago – The Art of Domaining.  It was an ebook that talked about buying and selling domain names. Read the rest of this entry
