Ahh CRM. One of my favorite subjects. You bring up great points. Perhaps something you could expand on is how changes in technology effect CRM methods and implementations. I am a big believer in web based CRM systems because users never have to be in one place to learn about and manage relationships with customers.

Thanks for the wonderful article. CRM is a big deal and should be paid attention to more. I looked into SalesForce, a major player in the field, and found them too expensive. I wish there were resources that were cheaper, if not free, and came relatively specialized to my industry.

I agree with you there Robert. Perhaps look at SugarCRM.com. I’ve used them for a while now and love the service. It’s simple and straightforward and offers all the integrations you’d expect.

Thanks for an interesting post. I think this is right on the money. you can’t even begin to plan a marketing or PR campaign before you know who you’re trying to market to. But I think too many companies think they assume they know their audience and build marketing programs without doing the proper homework. I’ll be sure to share this post.
