Great contest! I just started a new website called http://www.rsscop.com. The idea behind it has changed from the time I bought the domain, but the premise stays the same — we want to create a community where bloggers can help each other. So to that end we created a site similar to Yahoo Answers where bloggers can earn points for answering questions. A great tagline might be the thing we need right now to get going.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with! There’ll be a cup o’ java someday in it for you.

Hey that’s a good idea! :)

I’ve been running freelancefolder.com for about a year now, and the initial slogan was ‘The place for freelancer, entrepreneurs and work-at-home folks’… ok I admit it, I’m not good with slogans and taglines hehe, any ideas? I’m looking for something memorable of course :)

Anyway, very cool idea!
Cheers

What you are offering is really cool. Take a look at my travel-related site which aims at both novice and seasoned travelers/tourists. Basically, we share our knowledge, experience, observations and tips on all things related to traveling. We are not professional travelers and do not claim as such. We like fellow travelers who love traveling for fun to consider us as like-minded friends, and stop by to chat and share regularly.

@ Jon: I have got some cool one’s cooking for you. I will give it a lil’ chef’s taste and then email you within a week. Yeah, Freelance Folder does need a tag line.

@ Really Nice Vacation: Will get back to you with a few for you to look at. Thanks for stopping by.

@ Vivienne: Actually, I think your slogan is perfect. But we will still send some your way, options are always better :-)

Hi there!

Ritu, I love the idea! I’m currently working on new startup (web2.0, finance-related). Don’t want to unveiling too much as we’re on development stage for the time being, but the idea is too let you know where (and how) is your money doing ;-)

It would be great to put here more info but doing that before public tests of our site isn’t the smartest move. Does it counts me in? :-)

Cheers,
Ludwik

@ Ludwik: Goodluck with the start up. I think you gave the central idea of what you are looking for so we might be able to pull something in for you. It would be nice to get some more specific details but I understand your situation as well.

Of course you are in. Will get back to you within a week. Keep checking the blog as well. We will have a post with all the slogans and taglines that were written for our readers once all is said and done.

Oooh, you guys *know* taglines are my gig. And I know that the shoemaker’s son goes barefoot; my own tagline sucks.

So I’ll challenge you. Replace “Web Business Tips for Writers, Freelancers and Entrepreneurs”. Benefit-rich, I hope? ;)

I suck at slogans and taglines, so I would love some advice. I started a blog, http://traffikd.com, about 4 months ago. The target audience is bloggers and website owners who are looking to improve their marketing and visibility, particularly through social media. I try to provide relevant information that can be put into practice by readers for their own projects.

What a great service! I hope I’m not too late. I’d love to buy you a cuppa coffee - many cups - if you can help me work out a fresh, fun, but effective tagline for my business. I am another of those who writes well for others, but cannot for the life of me give myself a great tagline.

My business is called Mama’s Pocketbook, to honor my mother, who taught me to sew when I was 8, but who died when I was 14. She gave me the skills to create and a lifelong passion for fabrics. Also because I was always fascinated by my mother’s purses, I think we all saw our mother’s purses as magical treasure boxes full of wonder.

Currently my tagline is “… tissues and mints included!” And I do include both with every purse I make.

I want something unique that captures what I do without being too cliche. I don’t mind humorous, I have a great sense of humor, I just don’t want what I’ve seen on many other accessories/bag sites. I’ve seen stuff like “In the Bag or Not Your Mothers Handbag or other versions of Not Your Mama’s bag - which is actually confusing to say since the name of my company is Mama’s Pocketbook. Also I don’t want to give the impression that my business is about diaper bags, some of my bags may work for that, but that is not the reason for the word Mama in my business’ name.

I design, sew and handcraft one-of-a-kind and limited edition FABRIC pocketbooks, purses, totes, handbags, card cases, wallets, reuseable market bags and other bag accessories. I love fabric, love florals and vintage and vintage appeal fabrics, but my bags are modern in design, not Victorian, but Romantic - definitely! Fabrics speak to me and the designs are fashioned to showcase the fabric’s beauty. I love to mix old and new materials, vintage buttons or jewelry adorn most of my designs.

My distinction is that I combine and contrast beautiful high quality fabrics, mostly florals and all my bags are feminine, romantic, and beautiful. I am a meticuluous seamstress so my bags are also made to last season after season … so they are pretty and practical. I often use vintage fabrics and trims, but my designs have all the modern conveniences for organization and storage.

Here’s my website: http://mamaspocketbook.com

This should be loads of enough info… I hope you can concisely capture a captivating tagline for my website and marketing materials. I can’t wait to see what your fresh and creative minds will come up with!

THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!

We’re starting a health related web service that can be used by anyone, even people without a computer. We have the makings of a primary slogan, but it needs considerable help. The rough idea is:
If you’re breathing, you can use HealthMe. (Not the real name)

This is the kind of context where it would be used:

If you’re breathing, you can use HealthMe. Who can use HealthMe?
· The elderly
· People without a computer
· The computer literate
· Your mother
· The physically challenged
· Travelers
· Shut ins
· Martians

I’m sure you get the idea. Unfortunately, as much as I like the humor, we probably can’t use “If you’re breathing…” The message would stand out, but we’re probably more limited to something along the lines of “If you can use a phone…” The problem with “…phone…” is that it is somewhat misleading in that it sets phones up as the primary interface. I don’t want our users to have that mentality.

So the challenge is (if your still open to take on one of these projects), something punchy, attention getting and memorable. I’ll even up the ante to a pot of Joe!

Hi, i hope i can still qualify for this. I am currently working on my website which is scheduled to be up and running before the end of the year. You may find it at http://www.thedropshoponline.com.

The site’s overall concept is to offer products such as mobile phones, iPods, MP3’s, and other gadgets on installment basis. The ‘DROPShop’ name was actually coined after one of our Filipino culture which is to pay for items on installment terms, the DROP is a direct translation of the term in our language.

I’m now looking for an effective tagline/slogan that is catchy, funny, and memorable that will complement my shop’s name.

Hope you can still help me.
