Facebook Landing Page How To

If you have any experience, with Facebook marketing, you’ll know that it’s difficult to get your Facebook ads approved the first time through. That’s because Facebook wants to maintain the ‘integrity’ of the social network…

What I mean is Facebook is like a big circle of friends. You wouldn’t go into that circle and start shouting, “Buy my stuff!” Why should Facebook ads be any different.

If someone clicks on an ad and is IMMEDIATELY confronted with a web page asking for credit card info, the Facebook ad simply won’t get approved. To add insult to injury, the user probably won’t click any more ads because they feel betrayed; which means Facebook won’t be making any money because they only get paid on a ‘per click basis.’

** I have to thank Ryan Deiss and Perry Belcher from Facebook Ad Power for the teaching me this stuff originally… **

So now, let’s look at creating a Facebook compliant Landing Page:

Facebook Landing Page – How To

In creating a Facebook Landing Page, I’m going to assume that you don’t have a website, domain name or web hosting.  If you do, that’s cool.  Just skip to the section you can pick up at.

Step 1 – Register A Domain Name

Register a domain name from Godaddy.  Do something that corresponds with your offer.  For example, if you’re selling a quilting kit, buy getyourquiltkit. org  or getquiltkits. com.

Step 2 – Get Good Web Hosting

Good web hosting is vitally important when you start paying for advertising.  How mad would you be if you found out you spent $124 on clicks and they went to a page that was down because your server was offline…  Yeah, it sucks…

I’ve always really liked HostGator for web hosting.  You can host multiple websites on the same server, so no more paying multiple companies.  They’re entry level package will do for Facebook Landing Pages.

**Update – Enter coupon code ‘FBlandingpage’ and get a discount on your hosting costs…**

Step 3 – Video Landing Pages

Right now, video landing pages are really hot.  Video is becoming more and more accepted (and welcomed) and the trend is going to continue.

Video Squeeze Pages is painless way of setting up video landing pages in just a few minutes, whether your techie or technologically challenged.  What they do is let you post a landing page with a video or without, as well as a opt-in box that you can use to collect leads.  Then, people who click your ad will sign up to be on your marketing list!

Step 4 – Landing Page Optin

The last thing your going to need is a way to collect those leads on your squeeze pages.  That’s where Aweber comes in.  Aweber is world class email marketing software.  I’ve been using it for years.

The Video Squeeze Page package from Step 3 actually has videos on how to set up Aweber on the landing page, so make sure to look for it!

Step 5 – Sell To Your Leads

This is where I step out and you take over the show.  Now, you’ve got something called a ‘marketing funnel’ up and running.  People come in from Facebook, hit your video landing page, watch your video and sign up for your email list.

After they sign up for your list, it’s up to you to market to them consistently through email!  Now, there are lots of things to think about there like relationship building and not being too ‘sale-sy.’  A lot of that stuff comes with practice though.

Why not a word about Facebook templates that started to appear around the web? – http://facebook-templates.net/ – I think this is the easiest way to launch a custom page

Hey Michael!

Facebook Templates are cool for Facebook pages, but I was focusing more on Facebook landing pages – the pages that users land on after they click an Facebook ad. Landing pages are external to the FB environment so they need their own domain name and hosting…

Your templates are cool though. Any luck implementing the clickbank affiliate program I sent you a link to?
