I had a call the other day with a online magazine in Boston. They’re growing pretty well, getting about 1400 unique visitors a day, but want to scale it quicker.
That bad thing? They don’t want to do any paid advertising…
Now, I say that’s bad – but it’s not. I don’t like paid advertising either. When you can get search engine traffic, why would you possibly want to pay per click, right?
I was telling them my strategies of doing keyword research before every blog post and then did a little training video for them, showing them how to use Market Samurai.
Now, although Market Samurai is easy, there’s something that’s even simpler.

Keyword Winner Review – What Is It?
Keyword Winner is an SEO WordPress Plugin that scans related keywords for your titles and your blogs posts… And then makes recommendations.
In fact, it’s way easier if you watch them demo it on their website:
As in the above example, if you’re writing a post on ‘Ergotron,’ it will spit out the monthly trends, inbound links, competition, and is even color coded to tell you which keyword phrases you should be targeting so you get lots of search traffic!
What can get easier than that…
Keyword Winner Review – What I Like
The think I like best about Keyword Winner is it’s ease of use and it’s low cost. All you do is install it and activate it in your WordPress blog and it’s ready to get your traffic.
I have come to find that onpage search engine optimization, like targeting effective, long tail keywords is a HUGE ranking factor. Some of my niche sites don’t even have any inbound links and they hit page 1 just because of targeting good keywords!
The other attractive thing about Keyword Winner is the price point. It’s only $47 right now (it used to be higher) and is definitely worth the price. If you’re into affiliate marketing, sell just one affiliate product. If you’re getting rankings for clients, that’s like 1 day’s worth of money!

Keyword Winner Review – What I Don’t Like
If you’re an SEO junkie like me, one metric I’m sure you’ve heard about is SEO Title Competition. Basically, what that is is how competitive the keyword your targeting is in the title tags of the search results.
I’ve had good success with targeting keyword phrases with low title competition, even if overall competition is pretty high.
That’s me though. I’ve actually recommended the addition to the Keyword Winner developer and they said they’d include it on an upcoming release.
That’s just me being a nerd though. Don’t NOT buy it because of that! It’s still a bang up deal…

Overall, I really like Keyword Winner for picking keyword phrases that get your natural, free search engine traffic. It’s super easy to use and will make a difference on your website immediately.
