How true. And the best part is, once you reach that level of popularity, other people will do your work (e.g. drop your name) for you. At least I’ve found this is the case. Have you?

Great article Mike!

It seems that there’s many missed opportunities which I might have overlooked in my social media profiles… So now I’m gonna keep my eye out~ and my pockets filled.

“My designer comrade was very kind and eventually kicked back 50 bucks to me for recommending him.”

I smell a conflict of interest!

Interesting read, but the best thing is probably to ensure that you only submit quality material - that’s the best way to make a name of yourself.

Not only your popularity may be enough, because I saw profiles with more that one thousand of friends but without activities or good content. And how you can share your time to spend more efficient at several social media.

I agree with daniel. The best type of marketing comes from someone referring you. If you go to great lengths to give someone else business, it must be that you feel confident that they will provide the same or better level of service. Mantari -if the designer gave him a tip for referring him, it may or may not be construde as a kick back. The first time is usually innocent and that seems to be case. The second time he refers, if there is an agreement either implied or expressed, than maybe there’s a conflict of interests. Dunno!
