Blog Marketing Tool: Zimbio
When I first came across Zimbio last month, i didn’t think much of it. It looked like so many of the other “spam your blog” or “citizen (playing) journalist” websites out there — didn’t really take a second look.
That is, until last week. Now I’m hooked.
Zimbio draws its strengths from many different marketing disciplines and combines it to form a smooth traffic and link generating machine if used properly. That’s the key - it MUST be used properly to have a strong effect.

10 Quick Tips for Creating Great Email Marketing Lists
Email marketing is a trend that business after business is jumping on right now… Why pay 42 cents to mail a postcard when you can email something for next to nothing?!
Below is a list of 10 tips for you when building your email marketing list:
- First, make sure you put up a good landing page. It should be well-designed and professional looking. If you don’t have any design skills then hire someone to do this for you.
- Next, put a web form on your landing page and offer your customers the opportunity to opt-in to your mailing list. Give something away free to encourage them to opt in.
- Make sure any freebies you give away are of the highest quality, because the subscribers on your list will judge the worthiness of your products and services based on the freebies they get.
- Include a lot of professionally written content and interesting information for your visitors. Your customers will want to read interesting things and want to look for more than just a sales pitch. Content sites are a great way to build trust and loyalty. You can build a content site jam-packed with articles and helpful information, then link to your sales page from your content site.
- Make sure you keep your customer’s information private. If you tell your customer’s you will not share his or her personal information, then don’t share it with anyone. You will ruin your reputation, and word spreads fast on the Internet.
- Take some time to try the product you offer yourself. Make sure it is something you consider worthy of buying. If you are selling a book you wrote, make sure it has mass appeal and will benefit the target audience you plan to market it to.
- Provide top-notch customer service. This is THE number one way to stay ahead of the game. If your customers are happy and you resolve their questions and complaints immediately, then you will win their loyalty and trust.
- Reward customers that refer others to you. This is a simple way to build trust and loyalty.
- Respond to your customer’s complaints or inquiries immediately, with the goal in mind always being to satisfy your customer.
- Remain truthful and honest in all you do. A customer will sniff out a scam faster than a dog will a bone. Don’t lie, don’t trick and don’t steal. Be honest and be who you are, and you will do well working on the Web and building your opt-in list.
List building isn’t rocket science, but can be more difficult than you might originally think. Try offering something for free like a download or a coupon. And make sure you have follow up emails already programmed in. I can attest to not doing this as well as I should have!
But hey, then I was just learning the ropes!!
How Social Media Can Help In Search Engine Ranking
Most people use Social Media sites to either get the latest scoop on whats happening or to well, socialize. But there is another important aspect to it that marketers often ignore. Social Media sites can considerably boost your visibility in Search Engines. As most of you already know, Digg is a social media site that lets user submit and share content from anywhere on the web. The more diggs ( diversified ) an article gets the more chances of that particular piece making it to the frontpage.
For this post I will be using our sister site Nethackz as an example. This site has been one of our most successful sites and the reason is not because of social media traffic but the organic traffic from search engines.

Why 500 Private Beta Invites Gets Me Every Time
You’ve probably seen them on Techcrunch, Mashable, or a host of other startup-reviewing blogs. “We have 500 invites for the private beta (get ‘em while they last)!”
Most who have been around these blogs see this and have become aware that usually, even if you are too late to get an invite, you can request one and get it within a day from the site itself. In theory, with so many of these out there, they shouldn’t work.
Yet, they do. Here’s why:
