I’ve never used a campaign like this but I have always wondered about the results. It seems like people often ignore the google adwords on search results. Maybe that’s wrong and just me. Just wondering how quickly a campaign like this works.

The Adwords team has a very good series of videos on YouTube on how to structure an account. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=3E71493451A8C7F6

If you’re new to Adwords you can get a good bit of information from that series. You can also pick up some good tips if you’re intermediate too.

Also you write: “Another important thing about pay per click management is that you have to manage only your PPC campaign. You don’t have to tweak your web pages to get more traffic or anything like that.”

I think that is a fundamentally incorrect statement to be making, especially for a guide for new people. You should ALWAYS be testing and tweaking your site, more so than SEO. You’re paying for traffic, so you have to squeeze every single penny out by always improving your conversions. If you’re not testing your landing pages and other factors on your site, you are throwing money out the window.

I think a lot of new people don’t realize that fact, and that is why a lot of people give up so soon. You can make many unprofitable campaigns profitable if you’re consistently testing.
