You’ve no doubt heard a lot about text message marketing and what it can do for small businesses. Email marketing is on a downward trend because, at best, 20% of your email list will open your emails…
Text messages are read by an average of 95% right now!
Now, before I get too much further, it’s worthwhile to mention that text messaging is still an intimate thing. It’s highly personal.
So if you send out a text message to your SMS list that is too promotional (read: spammy) they’ll feel invaded!
I know the first time I got a text message from a company I did!
With that being said, text message marketing can prove to be incredibly valuable if used correctly…
What follows is a YepText Review which is one of the better SMS text messaging systems out there!
YepText Review – What Is It?
I was fortunate to see a preview of YepText and I’ve got to admit… It’s nice!
What YepText does for text messages and phone number is similar to what Aweber does for email addresses and list building.
YepText automates a lot of that and allows you to upload mobile phone numbers into their database so that you can send text message reminders and messages in a batch sequence.
Right now, it’s awesome for reminder appointments, webinar reminders, daily promotions… Things like that.
I am sure the us marketers will find other uses as we go!
YepText Review – What I Like
One of the things I really like about YepText is that phone numbers and messages are handled like they are in an email autoresponder. You can schedule messages, export phone lists, import phone lists.. All that stuff.
You can also use YepText to facilitate your phone number gathering, similar to email list building! it’s a cool service.
YepText Review – What I Don’t Like
Going back to the ‘personal’ nature of text messages and text message services, I think that the capacity to be used for ‘bad’ is quite high. The last thing I want is for some stupid marketer to get a hold of my cell phone number and send me loads of garbage.
As long as good marketers use it ethically, I think that there’s a great chance that it’ll be a profitable marketing medium!
YepText Review – Overall Thoughts
I love the idea of text message marketing and YepText as long as it’s used in a purposeful context. If it adds value to a customer’s day or keeps them reminded of important events and happenings, it’ll be awesome!
